For my installation, I was required to include paint chips in my piece and wanted to focus it around remembering Dr. Balmer by having the installation installed on the tree that was planted last year in her memory. I tied green paint strips with yarn around the tree myself to represent green leaves. My inspiration for this piece was to bring color back to this tree to represent that spring is coming. In order to do this, I asked the students, teachers, and faculty to pick a colorful paint chip and write on the back of it there favorite memory of Dr. Balmer. Each person would then add their paint chip to the tree to make it "bloom" with color.
